This means that we will ask and pay attention for the way in which tourism is dealt with in Third World countries. This also is true for Africa. More and more one needs to take into account the wishes of the local population and money must not only flow towards the big foreign traveling agencies or some few rich local businessmen.

Karibu Africa Safaris believes that a big part of the earned profits must be invested in the local economy. The local companies should of course gain from tourist visits. The population must be involved more and more in the tourist sector development of their own region or village.

Also one needs to be careful with the way nature and the environment is handled. The poor inhabitants of third world countries most of the time have other things on their mind, like gathering of food in order to stay alive, then to take care and worry about the environment. Tourists on the other hand can try to set a good example by dealing with trash from traveling in a good and responsible way, by being reserved when using firewood and all these things that affect the environment directly by tourism.

We work closely together with the local population and we also actively support some individual projects which will benefit the nature and the population. Africa is unique. Let’s try keeping it that way.
