Sossusvlei is the home of the famous red dunes of Namibia. The dunes rise up to 300 metres high in the heart of the Namib desert, one of the world’s oldest deserts. Walking the dunes at sunset leaves little wonder as to why Namibia is a photographer’s dream.
German colonial heritage is seen in the architecture of the buildings in this town. Swakopmund is a popular seaside resort and is frequently used as a safari stop-over. Activities include easy excursions into the desert, and to local places of interest.
