Overview
Ol Doinyo Lengai is the world’s only active volcano that erupts natrocarbonatite lava. The climb starts around midnight to avoid the heat and is steep and loose underfoot, reaching the crater rim at sunrise.
Combine it with Lake Natron, where flamingos breed and waterfalls hide in nearby gorges.
